Weploy case study

Weploy is a Melbourne on-demand recruitment platform. Their head office is a warehouse, retrofitted to integrate their minimalist design style. It’s an aesthetically pleasing space, but unfortunately indiscreet. Due to the glass walls and no ceilings, anyone could hear the private discussions and confidential meetings happening in the board room and CEO’s office.

Weploy approached Soundmask via a recommendation, keen to achieve speech privacy with an acoustical solution that would honour their new retrofit.

Was sound masking the only option?

However, where there is a warehouse or other minimalist fit out, adding physical acoustic treatments ruins the aesthetics of the space. In the case of weploy, the warehouse aesthetic and minimalist glass sheet design of the offices would be compromised.

Our sound masking system is visually unobtrusive. Due to the materials used, the client can even paint the ABS plastic transducers and acoustic discs if desired.

The solution

Soundmask installed a system that included our proprietary acoustic discs, which provided an even spread of sound throughout. This filled the space with a non-intrusive masking sound that masked private speech within the offices.

The result is speech privacy for the client without visual intrusion, and also had the benefit of reducing intrusive noise within the call centre.
