The office consisted of two storeys including an open plan area, meeting rooms and counselling suites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The problem<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Counselling and other confidential conversations were taking place in most of the suites. The client&#8217;s solution had been to play the radio in the reception area, and try and keep talking in hallways to a minimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-d47b819d72476a0e6197ec3b077bc42b\">Counselling manager Christine Barca* <a href=\"https:\/\/soundmask.com.au\/images\/soundmask_theage.jpg\">explained<\/a> the experience before having a Soundmask system installed in the space:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018\u2019Before we installed it, there was lots of whispering and \u2018Please Be Quiet\u2019 signs everywhere. It could be very unnerving for clients if they heard someone else\u2019s voice. It makes them worry about the confidentiality of their own sessions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The solution<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Soundmask installed a Soundmask system comprising in-ceiling transducers and a generator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barca gave her impression of the system once it had been installed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018\u2019You don\u2019t even notice when it\u2019s switched on, but you certainly notice it when it\u2019s off because it feels quite strange.
